PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an agent excellent in whitening effect.SOLUTION: A whitening agent contains extract of Epiphyllum oxypetalum which is an evergreen succulent plant of Cactaceae originated in tropical rain forests in Mexico. The extract of Epiphyllum oxypetalum inhibits production of NRG1 which is a melanin generation promoter derived from a dermal fibroblast, has an excellent melanin generation inhibitory effect by inhibiting the expression of a melanin generation associated factor, and also has no problem in safety. Therefore, the whitening agent containing the extract of Epiphyllum oxypetalum is effective in skin care aimed at whitening. |
