A power conversion device comprises a rectifier circuit (2), a reactor (3), an inverter circuit (4), and an insulating transformer (6). The inverter circuit (4) is configured by connecting a first leg (A), a second leg (B), and a DC capacitor (5) in parallel between DC bus lines, wherein a first AC node (4a) of the first leg (A) is connected through the reactor (3) to a positive electrode side DC terminal (2a) of the rectifier circuit (2). A high power factor control is performed on current (iac) flowing through the rectifier circuit (2) from an AC power supply (1) by the PWM controlling of the first leg (A). The voltage (Vdc) of the DC capacitor (5) is controlled by the PWM controlling of the second leg (B) using a duty ratio less than or equal to the duty ratio of the first leg (A), thereby controlling the power output to the secondary side of the insulating transformer (6). |
