A method of wireless communication includes receiving a data grant for multiple retransmission time slots associated with successfully decoded high speed data. The grant is in response to a base station detecting a NACK. The method also includes tuning away from a serving cell during the retransmission time slots to perform inter-RAT measurements, inter-frequency measurement and/or activity for a second subscriber identity module (SIM) of the UE.
