PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate an image of which the depth of field is sufficiently enlarged from a plurality of images captured in different focal distances.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus 10 includes: image setting means 12 and 13 for setting one of a plurality of images as a reference image and setting the other image as a criterion image; compensated image generation means 14 for generating a compensated criterion image by compensating motions of the reference image and the criterion image; focusing degree calculation means 15 and 16 for calculating a reference focusing degree and a criterion focusing degree indicating degrees of focusing of the reference image and the compensated criterion image; and image combination means 17 and 18 for determining a combination ratio of the reference image and the compensation criterion image from the reference focusing degree and the criterion focusing degree and generating a combined image of the reference image and the compensation criterion image in accordance with the combination ratio. The generation of the combination image is sequentially and iteratively performed. In n-th combination processing, a combined image generated by (n-1)th combination processing or a non-combined image that is one image on which the combination processing has not been performed in the n-th combination processing among a plurality of images, is set as the reference image. |
