PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus for a parts feeder capable of accelerating the conveyance of a workpiece by accurately and easily providing an imaging device of a camera at an appropriate position.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus 8 for a parts feeder is applied to a parts feeder 100 including the camera for imaging a workpiece W that is conveyed along a conveyance path 10. As the camera, an area camera 2 is adopted which includes a plurality of imaging devices arrayed in a direction of conveyance of the workpiece and a direction orthogonal thereto and acquires image data by the imaging devices. The image processing apparatus 8 for the parts feeder includes: setting means 30 for setting only partial imaging devices which form a line orthogonally with the direction of conveyance among the plurality of imaging devices included in the area camera 2, available for imaging; image fetching means 31 for immediately fetching the acquired image data from the area camera 2 when utilizing only the partial imaging device for imaging; and attitude discrimination means 33 for performing propriety discrimination processing on the workpiece W on the basis of the image data fetched by the image fetching means 31. |
