PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend further the rolling fatigue life of a large rolling bearing used under conditions vulnerable to structure change type peeling, like bearings for windmills and bearings for construction machines.SOLUTION: In a rolling bearing, at least one of an inner ring and an outer ring is composed of an alloy steel of a specified composition and subjected to a carburization treatment or a carbonitriding treatment, and the rolling bearing has a hardness of Hv63 to Hv800 and a compressed residual stress of 50-300 MPa at the depth of 0.01D (D is the diameter of the rolling element) from the surface of the contact surface with the rolling element and meets equations (1) and (2). (1) [Cr]=[Cr]-3.5([C]-0.02[γR]); and (2) 0.5[Si]+0.2[Mn]+0.2[Cr]+0.7[Mo]≥0.95, where [ ] represents a content of each element, and [γR] is the retained austenite amount. |
