PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus and a control method of an image forming apparatus enabling reuse of long-length paper without causing deterioration in printing quality.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: a paper conveyance part 20 for conveying long-length paper; a secondary transfer roller 19 for transferring an image onto long-length paper; a fixation device 40 that is provided with a pair of fixation rollers 41 and 42 for forming a fixation nip, and that fixes an image on long-length paper by heating and pressing at the fixation nip the long-length paper conveyed along a conveyance path; and a control part 50 that performs a conveyance control for, when the conveyance of long-length paper is stopped, resuming the conveyance of the long-length paper after reversely feeding the long-length paper for a prescribed quantity. The control part 50 determines, on the basis of the paper state at a fixation area being an area of long-length paper that has stopped in the fixation device 40 at the time of stop of the conveyance, whether or not the fixation area can be reused. |
