The present invention relates to: coralmycin A and B, which are novel compounds exhibiting antibacterial activity, an isomer thereof, a derivative thereof or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof; a Corallococcus sp. strain producing the same; and an antibacterial use thereof. The coralmycin A and B have very strong antibacterial activity against antibiotic-resistant bacteria such as MRSA, QRSA, VRE and VISA and Acinetobacter baumannii, which is a multidrug-resistant bacterium, and against gram-positive bacteria and gram-negative bacteria. Therefore, the present invention can be very useful for prevention, treatment and alleviation of various bacterial infections, and thus can be widely applied to the medical supplies, quasi-drugs, food and feed industries. |
