PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a discharge state from being unstable in an ion generator, which generates ions through an aerial discharge from a discharge electrode by applying high-voltage electricity, as capacitance contributing a cable supplying the high-voltage electricity affects the discharge when the cable becomes long, and to prevent an unnecessary discharge from being caused after the ion generator stops operating to generate noise.SOLUTION: An electric resistor 51 for discharging electricity accumulated in a cable 3 is installed, and then has one end connected to a discharge electrode 4 and the other grounded. Further, the electric resistor 51 has its resistance value determined according to characteristics of a high-voltage electricity generation circuit 2, a structure of the discharge electrode 4a, and material characteristics of an insulator film 3b covering the cable 3. |
