The invention relates to a method for producing a steel component which is provided with a corrosion-resistant metal coating and which exhibits very good mechanical properties, in which an iron-based alloy containing 50 - 80 wt% Fe, preferably 50 - 65 wt% Fe, 0 - 30 wt% Mg, 0 - 5 wt% Al, 0 - 5 wt% Ti, 0 - 10 wt% Si, 0 - 10 wt% Li, 0 - 10 wt% Ca, 0 - 30 wt% Mn, the remainder being Zn and unavoidable impurities, is applied directly to a steel substrate, and in which the steel substrate coated with the iron-based alloy is subjected to hot forming in order to obtain the steel component. By virtue of the method according to the invention, it is possible to achieve a corrosion-resistant metal coating specifically for steel components to be produced by the process of hot forming. |
