<p>The station (1) has a sealing tool (6) including a tool upper part (7) and a tool lower part (8), which accommodates packaging trays (3) in two rows (14, 15). The lower part includes a lowerable supporting disk (16) for lowering one of the rows of trays. A bar chain (12) conveys the trays into and out of the tool. An electrically or pneumatically operable actuator (17) lowers the disk. The disk is lowered from a plane, in which the trays are conveyed into the tool, to another plane extending on a lower level. The lower part is additionally provided with a stationary supporting disk (18). An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a sealing station.</p> |
