PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that executes stabilization processing timely, making use of an idle time not contributing to printing productivity, without deteriorating the print productivity.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: an image forming part for forming an image on a sheet; a post-processing part for executing post-processing on a sheet; a stabilization processing part for executing stabilization processing on an image; an intersheet time detection part for detecting an intersheet time during which an intersheet space between a preceding sheet and a subsequent sheet passes during the execution of the post-processing; an intersheet space determination section for determining whether or not the intersheet time exceeds a reference time; an accumulation time measurement part for measuring the accumulation time for image formation; a time determination part for determining whether or not the accumulation time for image formation exceeds a preliminarily fixed setting time; and a control part for causing the stabilization processing part to perform stabilization processing when the accumulation time for image formation is determined to exceed the preliminarily fixed setting time, and when the intersheet time is determined to exceed the reference time. |
