AUTOMATIC EXAMINATION OF VALUE LABELS

The method involves lighting an item with lights of wavelength of respective spectral ranges. The images of the item are evaluated with respect to the location of stamps on the item and location of luminescence, respectively. The two evaluations are compared with the criterion of presence of luminescence in the location to which stamps are applied. The image sections are evaluated with respect to determination of location and geometry of luminescence pattern of stamps. The evaluation of image sections is compared with stored luminescence patterns, to decide genuineness of stamps. An independent claim is included for device for automatic examination of genuineness of value-indicating stamps and indicia.
