A horse-riding training device 10 comprising a supporting frame or base 20,22, a body portion 26 for supporting a rider, the body portion being displaceably mounted on the base, a neck portion 28 being pivotally connected to the base and a resilient element 54 which resists displacement of the body portion with respect to the base. The device may include a positional sensor for detecting movement of the body and neck portion relative the base, connected via a mechanical linkage. The device can also include a strain gauge or pressure sensor to detect the duration and pull on reins, secured to loop connectors disposed on opposite side of the head section dimensioned to represent a horses head located at one end of the neck portion. The output of the positional sensor or strain gauge can be relayed to a portable electronic device over a wireless connection. A computer program for use with such a device is also described. |
