<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set an excellent standby state e.g., during charging or when finishing charging, while avoiding expansion in circuit scale or increase of costs. <P>SOLUTION: A portable terminal scans a perch channel when starting charging, selects a standby channel on the basis of a reception level measurement result and is brought into optimal standby state under a charging environment.
