Method and a device for fare collection in public transportation vehicles

The known methods and system for registering tickets within a public transportation vehicle suffer the problem that tickets travelling in parallel to a public transportation are not recognized as a journey outside said public transportation vehicle. In consequence the holder will be charged for a fee without having used the service. In order to properly register a ticket the registration takes only place when a comparison of the acceleration pattern of the vehicle match with the acceleration pattern of the ticket. For that purpose a gateway unit in the vehicle as well as the ticket are provided with an accelerometer.
