Hood type annealing furnace and method for operating same

The furnace (1) has a base (2) which is mounted with a protective hood (6). The protective gas heated by a gas burner (14) is circulated under the protective hood by a fan (4). A steel belt rolled up with a coil (8) is heated to 500 [deg] C in a protective gas atmosphere. An electrical heater (20) is powered by an electrical heating device (18) by heating power of gas burner at a temperature above the recrystallization annealing temperature. An independent claim is included for a method for operating box-type annealing furnace.
