The present invention relates to a device for writing an email of a mobile terminal and a method therefor and, more particularly, to a device for writing an email of a mobile terminal by using a template, and a method therefor. To this end, the device for writing an email of a mobile terminal comprises: a display part including an input area and a display area, and controls a template corresponding to a search gesture occurring on the display part in an email composition mode to be searched and displayed; and a memory which stores the template, and controls the template being displayed in the email mode including only a selected text to be stored as a new template.
