An apparatus for detecting an intruder based on a frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) receives a reflection signal of a transmission signal transmitted while changing frequency; detects a preliminary alarm position from a received signal having an overall frequency band to select one among a plurality of partial frequency bands of the overall frequency band; detects a preliminary alarm from the signal having the partial frequency band among signals received via reflection of the transmission signal transmitted according to a corresponding period while changing cycles with respect to a plurality of the cycles to select one among the cycles; and then detects an object using a signal having the partial frequency band among signals received via reflection of the transmission signal having the selected cycle. |
