<p>The present invention aims to provide a knitting method for a sock having a depth enough for a heel portion to be prevented from being forcibly pulled at a part thereof on the instep side. When the heel portion of the sock having a first tubular portion, the heel portion, and a second tubular portion is formed, the number of wale of the tubular knitted fabric is increased by using knitting needles not holding thereon a final row of stitches of the first tubular portion; a flechage knitting for knitting alternately on a front needle bed and a rear needle bed while reversing in C-shape is performed; and the stitches knitted are transferred and overlapped with the increased knitting width to narrow the knitting width, followed by the knitting of the second tubular portion. This knitting can produce a sock of high fitness with no strain.</p> |
