A tibial component of a knee prosthesis has a superior and inferior sides, and a fixation member extending inferiorly from the inferior side. The inferior side of the tibial component also has an inferior fixation surface that extends generally in the transverse plane, and has a peripheral rim, a top wall spaced apart superiorly from the peripheral rim, and a sidewall extending superiorly from the posterior rim to the top wall. When viewed sagittally, an imaginary plane defined by the peripheral rim forms an acute angle with an imaginary plane defined by the top wall.
