A coupling comprising an inner annular member 601, an outer annular member 603 and optionally an intermediate member 602. The inner member comprises an outer convex spherical periphery and the outer member comprises an inner concave periphery with the inner member being received within the outer member. The rotation of the two members is constrained to be about an axis perpendicular to a central axis of the coupling. The coupling further comprises a seal support member 18 on which is mounted an annular seal 22. The inner and outer members may be constrained for relative rotation by projections (M2, K2 fig. 1) that radially extend from the outer periphery of the inner member, or by axles (X1, X11 fig. 2) that are located in bores between the inner and outer members. The coupling can therefore allow a degree of tilt between the members in the manner of a universal joint. |
