<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle control device which can more properly control a vehicle than a conventional vehicle control device even if a failure occurs in any throttle sensor. <P>SOLUTION: An ECU determines whether a first sensor and a second throttle sensor have failures (step S101). Moreover, when the failure occurs in the throttle sensor, the ECU determines whether a difference between target engine torque and actual engine torque is smaller than a specific value (step S103).
