<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a label detection system and a label printer which do not affect printing and can determine the authenticity. <P>SOLUTION: A label detection system includes a label material, and a detector for detecting electromagnetic waves over a specific wavelength emitted from the label material. The label material includes a base material sheet, and an adhesive layer provided on the base material sheet. The adhesive layer contains an adhesive and an electromagnetic wave generator.
