<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide austenitic S containing free-cutting stainless steel which does not cause a crack during hot rolling and which is excellent in corrosion resistance and machinability. <P>SOLUTION: The austenitic S containing free-cutting stainless steel includes, by the mass percentage, C: 0.01-0.10%, Si: 0.2-1.0%, Mn: 0.5-4.0%, S: 0.25-0.40%, P: 0.02-0.05%, Cr: 17.0-20.0%, Ni: 7.0-10.0%, Mo: 0.05-3.0%, N: 0.01-0.08%, Ca: 0.0010-0.0080%, Al: 0.005% or less, O: 0.007-0.020%, and, as needed, one or both of Cu: 0.2-3.5% and B: 0.001-0.01%, with the balance being Fe and inevitable impurities, whereinδFe defined by the following formula is 0.5-3.5.δFe=2.9(Cr+Mo+0.3Si)-2.6(Ni+0.3Mn+0.25Cu+35C+20N)-18, where each chemical symbol represents its content in the steel (mass percentage). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
