The device (100) has a light source and a convergent lens, where the light source includes multiple aligned LEDs (10). The convergent lens is intended to focus a light beam emitted by the light source in a plane orthogonal to the line of LEDs, and to deflect the light beam parallel to an illumination plane including the line of LEDs, so as to form a light beam having an ellipsoidal section. The convergent lens includes a central optical portion (3) and two optical peripheral portions (4) arranged on either side of the central optical portion in the orthogonal plane.
