The exhaust gas system component (1) has a housing (2) provided with a housing wall (4), which separates an inner space (5) of the housing from surrounding (6) provided with an ambient pressure (Pu). The ambient pressure surrounds the housing. A stiffening element (3) is fixed and arranged at the housing such that it opposes inner pressure (Pi) induced deformation of the housing wall.
