<p>An ostomy pouch assembly (1) comprises a receptacle (2) for receiving material from a stoma of a person, and a mounting plate (4) for securing the receptacle to a person's body. The mounting plate includes a first layer (10) with an outer surface that is configured to be bonded to a person's skin and an inner surface. An intermediate layer (12) is located between the inner surface of the first layer (10) and the receptacle (2). A stress displacement or bonding layer (16) is located between the intermediate layer (12) and the receptacle (2) for bonding the mounting plate (4) to the receptacle (2). The region of bonding securement between the bonding layer (16) and the intermediate layer (12) has a first peripheral edge (20), and the region of bonding securement between the bonding layer and the receptacle has a second peripheral edge (26) that is located inwardly of the first peripheral edge (20).</p> |
