<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charging member for electrophotography, in which sufficient electric resistance can be obtained in various environments while a substance bleeding out from the charging member can be reduced. <P>SOLUTION: The charging member includes a conductive shaft core and a conductive layer. The conductive layer contains a binder resin and conductive particles; and the conductive particles contain an ion exchange group and a molecular chain unit expressed by formula (1) on the surface thereof.
