<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the noise resistance of a capacitance detection circuit. <P>SOLUTION: A transmission circuit 20 applies a periodic transmission signal to a transmission electrode 10 of each of a plurality of capacitance sensors 5<SB POS="POST">1 to m</SB>. A reception circuit 26 generates digital values Ds<SB POS="POST">1 to m</SB>showing the capacitance change of each of the capacitance sensors 5<SB POS="POST">1 to m</SB>on the basis of a reception signal I<SB POS="POST">RX</SB>generated in associated reception electrode 12<SB POS="POST">1 to m</SB>.
