This method for producing an absorbent article has: an absorbent body joining step (S2) for disposing an absorbent body between a front surface sheet and a back surface sheet; a bottom layer forming step (S3) for coating an adhesive to be applied to a pair of wing sections onto a pair of protective sheets; a bottom layer joining step (S4) for respectively pasting the protective sheets onto the wing sections in a manner so that the adhesive on the protective sheets and the outer edge in the widthwise direction of the wing sections face each other; a protective-sheet-cutting step (cutting and embossing step (S5)) for cutting the protective sheets along the outer edge in the widthwise direction of the wing sections; and a wing folding step (S6) for folding back the wing sections having the cut protective sheets to the front surface sheet side of the main absorbent body. |
