Embodiments relate to a computer for transmitting data in a network. The computer includes at least one data transmission port configured to be connected to at least one storage device via a plurality of paths of a network. The computer further includes a processor configured to detect recurring intermittent errors in one or more paths of the plurality of paths and to disable access to the one or more paths based on detecting the recurring intermittent errors.

detect recurring intermittent errors in one or more paths of the plurality of paths by determining whether the one or more paths have suffered at least a number of errors within a predetermined duration of time, the number being a number greater than one, and the number dynamically adjusted based on performance changes of one or more applications or based on data packet delivery delay, anddisable access to the one or more paths based on detecting the recurring intermittent errors.
