An imaging device capable of transmitting an image signal regardless of types of a control device is provided. An endoscope 2 includes an imaging element 244 that sequentially emits light having different wavelengths to a subject, captures an image of an optical image reflected from the subject, and generates an image signal of the subject. The endoscope 2 adopts a sequential lighting method in which the endoscope is connected to a control device 3 that performs predetermined image processing on the image signal and bidirectional communication is performed. Further, provided is a data controller 244k that controls a data amount of an image signal to be transmitted to the control device 3 based on identification information of the control device 3 connected to the endoscope 2. |
