<p>Provided is a novel developer capable of realizing a thermal recording material which shows extremely high color-developing sensitivity, affords good image density even when printed at a low application energy (i.e., high start-up sensitivity), and is superior in heat resistance and plasticizer resistance, and a thermal recording material using the developer.
