<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pyrimidine derivative which, when used as an organic-compound layer in fluorescence-type and phosphorescence-type organic electroluminescent elements, simultaneously accomplishes the driving voltage reduction and high-efficiency light emission of the elements. <P>SOLUTION: The pyrimidine derivative is represented by formula (1), wherein Ar<SP>1</SP>and Ar<SP>2</SP>are each independently a substituted aromatic group; and Ar<SP>3</SP>is a substituted phenyl group or a ring-fused phenyl group not containing a group 16 element, provided that Ar<SP>3</SP>does not contain a 1,3,5-trimethylphenyl group. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
