A component meter indicates the current inventory of cashbox in value bills. Upon occurrence of banknote jam during transport, the paid banknotes are returned to cashbox in the first step, or the value of component meter is increased in the second step, while the value of component meter is reduced according to the values of jammed banknotes and the supply amount of banknotes to the reject counter is reduced.
