PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device that forms a recording image which has a nonuniform dot arrangement between rasters and reduces a bias in nozzle use rate without changing the dot arrangement.SOLUTION: Sub-scanning is variably controlled so that the conveyance amount of a recording medium in a plurality of times of sub-scanning in multi-pass printing is not constant and the total thereof matches a width of an array range of a plurality of nozzle. In a plurality of times of main scanning, a mask pattern 72 comprising lines more than nozzles is applied to the plurality of nozzles to distribute recording data to the nozzles. A pattern at the leading end and a pattern at the trailing end of a mask pattern are the same in a sub-scanning direction. The correspondence between the mask pattern 72 and the nozzles is displaced in a nozzle array direction according to whether the variably controlled conveyance amount is controlled (by 321 nozzles) to be larger than or controlled (by 319 nozzles) to be smaller than a constant conveyance amount when a plurality of times of sub-scanning are performed by constant-amount conveyance. |
