CARBONITRIDE TITANIUM-BASED CERMET FOR CHIPSAW

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a TiCN-based cermet for chipsaw exhibiting excellent defect resistance and abrasion resistance during cutting process.SOLUTION: There is provided a TiCN-based cermet for chipsaw containing a hard phase and a binding phase, having uniform fine structure and excellent in defect resistance and abrasion resistance where (a) a component of the hard phase consists of 47 to 60 mass% or TiCN, 15 to 30 mass% of WC and 5 to 13 mass% of NbC or 7 mass% or less of MoC, (b) a component of the binding phase consists of 5 to 18 mass% of Co or further 10 mass% of Ni, and (c) the TiCN-based cermet for chipsaw consists of fine crystal grain having an average grain diameter of the crystal grain constituting the hard phase of 0.5 to 1.0 μm.
