PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication area adjustment device and method, capable of preferably setting a communication area of a portable terminal having a key function.SOLUTION: A user carries both of a portable terminal 3 and an electronic key 5, and in the state, the user is made move respective points in the surrounding of outside of a vehicle and inside of the vehicle. At the time, in the respective points, first intensity R1 as intensity of a signal when a vehicle 1 and the electronic key 5 communicate, is acquired, and second intensity R2 as intensity of a signal when the vehicle 1 and the portable terminal 3 communicate, is acquired. Then, with a condition in which a relationship between distance Ls between the vehicle 1 and electronic key 5 and the first intensity R1 acquired in an electronic key system 6 is correct, the second intensity R2 is associated with the distance Ls, and the communication area of the vehicle 1 and the portable terminal 4 is adjusted. |
