PURPOSE:To reduce variations in tension of a travelled yarn in a moving-up process and prevent the yarn from breaking, by a method wherein a ring is moved upwards into the wound width of a package on a bobbin at a relatively low velocity, in the titled method for winding up a yarn by a draw twister. CONSTITUTION:In the condition wherein the ring 5 is maintained at the position of a waste spool 1, the draw twister is driven at a low speed, and the nonuniform yarn generated at the time of starting the winding is wound up around the spool 1. Then, the drawing speed is increased, and when a drawing speed reaches at least 60% of a normal drawing speed, the ring 5 is moved upwards into the wound width of the package 8 on the bobbin 2, and the yarn is wound up onto the bobbin 2 while preventing any variation of tension by traversing the yarn in the vertical direction. |
