PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that the consumption of a holding area of raster image data becomes huge when a system is operated for a long term because a conventionally used source document data retrieval method is configured to hold the whole raster image data during printing.SOLUTION: Print layout information used during printing and a drawing object required to form the layout are divided into partial drawing objects to be held. During source document data retrieval, a print layout is applied to the partial drawing objects to reconstruct drawing contents of a printing time. During retrieving an image coincident with a scan image of a printed matter, retrieval processing which does not need a raster image of a printing time is achieved by making the reconstructed drawing contents a retrieval object. |
