PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce loss of a converter.SOLUTION: Each of a converter 110 and an inverter 130 includes a plurality of arm circuits 115(1), 115(2), ..., 115(n) connected in parallel, each of the arm circuits includes at least two or more switching circuits 117(11), 117(12) connected in series, and each of the switching circuits includes a rectifier element and a switching element connected in parallel. When a synchronization/phase coincidence detection unit detects synchronization between AC voltage of an AC input terminal and AC voltage of an AC output terminal and coincidence of phases, a switch excitation unit closes a switch 145 and a converter control unit controls a current flowing into one arm circuit 115(1) of the converter to 0. |
