PURPOSE:To keep marine creatures from clinging to the outside plate of the water contact part of a ship or the like and prevent the electrolytic corrosion of the outside plate, by bonding square metal plates of high anti-contaminating performance with an electrically insulating adhesive or the like to the outside plate of the water contact part. CONSTITUTION:The outside plate 1 of a hull is made of steel or the like. Square metal plates 2 of high anti-contaminating performance are bonded with an electrically insulating adhesive 3 to the water contact part of the outside plate 1. Each square metal plate 2 is made of copper or copper alloy and has a low surface roughness. The adhesive 3 is made of epoxy, polyester or urethane resin or the like, the electric insulating performance of which is high. According to this constitution, marine creatures are prevented from clinging to the outside plate 1. Even if a hole as shown at (a) in the drawing is made by a drifing log or the like, electrolytic corrosion does not occur because the outside plate 1 is insulated from the square metal plates 2. |
