PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the cost of a fuel injection device for a diesel engine, and to efficiently arrange components constituting the fuel injection device in the vicinity of a cylinder head.SOLUTION: A fuel injection device for a diesel engine of this invention includes a cylinder head of the engine, a plurality of fuel injection valves arranged on an upper part of the cylinder head so that fuel is supplied thereto from a common rail, a fuel pump arranged on a fuel supply pipe communicating a fuel tank with the fuel injection valve and driven by a camshaft, and a flow regulating valve disposed in an upstream side of the fuel pump of the fuel supply pipe and regulating a flow rate of the fuel in accordance with a fuel pressure in the common rail. The engine includes a chain case joined to an end on a transmission side in a cylinder row direction of the cylinder head, and the flow regulating valve is attached to the chain case, and the fuel pump is arranged on an upper surface side of the cylinder head and in the vicinity of an end on a side opposite from the chain case in the cylinder row direction. |
