PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery in which an inversion plate is prevented from malfunctioning by providing a protection layer to the inversion plate, so that safety can be improved.SOLUTION: In one example, there is provided a secondary battery including: an electrode assembly including a first electrode plate, a second electrode plate, and a separator disposed between the first electrode plate and the second electrode plate; a case accommodating the electrode assembly; and a cap assembly coupled to the case. The cap assembly comprises: a cap plate sealing the case and having a short-circuit hole; an inversion plate provided in the short-circuit hole of the cap plate; and a terminal plate provided so as to cover the short-circuit hole of the cap plate. A protection layer having a higher melting point than the inversion plate is provided under the inversion plate. |
