PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of an optical fiber element wire which comprises forming an optical fiber bare wire by wire-drawing a heat-molten optical fiber base material and passing the optical fiber bare wire continuously through a coating unit for resin coating to coat with a protective resin, reduces mixing of bubbles in the coating layer and enables production of a high-quality optical fiber element wire without problems of variation of the wire diameter of an optical fiber element product and thickness deviation and strength deterioration of the resin coating layer due to bubbles in the coating layer.SOLUTION: A high-pressure period in which a resin supply pressure higher than the resin supply pressure in the stationary coating condition is used is arranged in the initial period from the time of start-up of drawing until a specified time elapses, and drawing is conducted. Then, the resin supply pressure is lowered to the resin supply pressure in the stationary coating condition, and stationary coating is conducted. |
