PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently remove foreign matter attached to an anvil cylinder in an anvil cleaning apparatus and a rotary die cutter.SOLUTION: In a die cutting section 41, an anvil cylinder 43 and a knife cylinder 44 are opposed to each other and rotatably supported. The die cutting section 41 performs drilling of a cardboard sheet S by allowing the cardboard sheet S to pass through the anvil cylinder 43 and the knife cylinder 44. An anvil cleaning apparatus 52 includes: a plurality of brush rollers 53 and 54 rotatably supported at positions to contact with an outer peripheral surface of the anvil cylinder 43; and brush driving devices 55 and 56 capable of independently driving the brush rollers 53 and 54. The anvil cleaning apparatus 52 is disposed in the die cutting section 41.
