PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To identify substances inhibiting half-dry odor.SOLUTION: A search method of half-dry odor inhibitor comprises the steps of: adding test materials and 4-methyl-3-hexene acid into at least one kind of olfactory receptor polypeptides selected from a group consisting of OR51B2, OR51E1, OR51L1, and polypeptides having at least 80% amino acid sequence identity to each of them; measuring a response of the olfactory receptor polypeptide to 4-methyl-3-hexene acid; and identifying the test materials inhibiting the response of the olfactory receptor polypeptide on the basis of the response measured. |
