The present invention relates to a system and a method for providing access to protected data in a communication terminal. The system comprises: a publisher database configured to store protected data in an encrypted form; a first server coupled to the publisher database; a second server configured to provide a cryptographically strong authentication of access to the protected data, as the second server coupled to the first server; an interface with a first secure channel between the first server and the communication terminal; and an interface with a second secure channel between the first server and a customer application. The first server is configured to exchange protected data with the communication terminal through the first secure channel, and to exchange protected data with the customer application through the second secure channel.
