The present invention relates to a brake control system and a brake control method for a vehicle having a trailer. The brake system comprises: a tow car braking device installed on a tow car and conducting the function of driving safely on a downhill, by which the target speed of a vehicle is determined and a brake is controlled, to maintain the driving speed of the vehicle to be constant on a downhill; a trailer braking device for braking the trailer to reach the target speed; and a pressure controller for calculating a braking pressure value provided to the trailer braking device based on a difference between the target speed determined in the tow car braking device and the actual speed of the vehicle. Accordingly, the desired target speed can be reached easily, noise can be reduced and the stability of the vehicle can be improved. |
